What do I do if my 9 week old puppy has diarreah?

Answers:
First and foremost make sure he/she is getting plenty of water, diarreah can deplete his electrolytes and he can get dehydrated very easily. You also need to call your vet and ask if there is anything you can hive him or feed him that will help. You don't want to mess around with a puppy, they're like babies, their bodies are too small to deal with a whole lot of stress. Good luck!
Give it kaopectate
stick a big cork in its butt
make him white rice
Feeding your puppy some pumpkin can help its digestive system, if poops are too soft it will firm them and if to hard will soften.
Ground beef and rice. Cook the beef of course. It works. Oh, and clean it up.
call a vet
try changing it's food ot take it to the vets.
See if he may have ingested any human food or something that he should not have. Make sure you keep him regulated and dont give him treats with high fat content and greases. Stick to regular puppy formula milk bones and puppy food. My puppy was like that for a while too cause their little bodies are just getting used to digesting the food. Also make sure he has plenty of water to keep him hydrated until the diarreah stops.
you can give him a little bit of kaopectate(1/2 tsp) you want to feed him a high fiber food. you can feed him wht rice, that will help firm up his poops. also don't feed him table foods because that will cause him to get his loose poops, and it will cause him to get dry skin as well and when that happens you will have trouble getting rid of the dry skin. so the thing that you can do is mix wht rice in his dry food. you want to stay away from any food that has beef, wheat, corn, or soy. that will cause him to get loose poops and will cause him tomget the dry skin. but feed him wht rice and you can give him alittle bit of cn pumpkin, that will help as well. good luck
boiled hamburger mixed with cottage cheese.
Pumpkin(already mentioned)
Cooked rice

If none of the above works within 24 hours- you need to at least call the vet- it could be more serious. Dehydration is a potential concern as well.
sto feeding trash to that poor thing that is the first step
well first of all, keep a close eye on your puppy when he is not crated. It's possible he could have gotten ahold of something that upset his stomach from outside or inside your house. those sneaky puppies will eat anything. If the diarreah goes on for more than a few days see your vet.
or secondly, if you just brought your puppy home, it could just simply be stress of leaving his mom and litter mates, or because you changed his food. you should ask the breeder you got him from what they were feeding him. Providing it's a good quality food try to keep him on that.
Again, if the diarreah persists, take him to the vet. there are very fatal diseases puppies can get in their early days and the sooner you know the better. Be sure your getting him up to date on all his shots ASAP.
Gee, 9 weeks old is actually too young to be weaned from his mother. That is Really pushing it.. I know some breeders like to wean young to move the pups out and make money.
But since I assume that he is weaned, take him to your vet ASAP! Diarrhea can be caused by MANY things, and they can DIE from it. It could be parvo if he has been exposed to the germs for it.. That is how it begins to show up first, as diarrhea. It can be SO MANY things. Giving kaopectate will help slow the diarrhea down, and calm his tummy (which likely hurts) but it will not address WHY he has it to begin with.
For puppies that small, diarrreah can mean several things; new place(still in shock), parvo or wrong diet. I would get him checked out by a vet. If he does have parvo, he will die.
Depends on why he has diarrhea. Diarrhea can be caused by change in diet, stick to the same kind of food and reduce the amount you give him until the diarrhea goes away. Diarrhea can also be cause by a virus called Parvo! Dog that aren鈥檛 vaccinated are at a higher rise of getting parvo and if not caught in time the animal could die! This kind of diarrhea has a very distinct and fowl odder and the dog needs medical attention ASAP! It鈥檚 probably just because of diet but you could also try a very bland diet of rice and a little boiled chicken until it goes away!
bring your buddy to the vet
