what can you do to eliminate dog odor?

i use the carpet freshner before vaccuming, air freshner afterwards but there's still dog odor. i love my pug so i don't want to leave him outside. So, i would love any input.

Remove the carpet. Its the only way. Leave the dog out a lot-they need it. Put down a vinyl floor or something easy to wash. Odor will improve dramatically. Stay away from cleaners and fresheners that have perfume in them. They grow stale and putrefy causing more odors.

I've found that the extra-strength Febreze works wonders on strong pet odors. The anti-microbial Febreze also works good too.

I know the urine smell is terrible what i use is i get a carpet cleaner and instead of using soap put vinegar in it . the vinegar is so strong that it will eliminate the smell and will make it more comfortable for you

they have this stuff (it is marketed for ferrets) that can be used on all animals or things like ferniture, it is called ferret odor remover by marshalls. i think it is baby powder scent i would have to go look i just don't want to but i se it on my ferrets it works great.

yeah. definately use Febreeze or some type of fabric freshener. That will really help it. Also, you can try bathing your dog more often and changing his food. Sometimes the food he eats can determine what kind of odor he gives off. Try having a certain spot for him to sleep and eat and that will help maintain some of the odor in a certain spot. Shampoo your carpet with Lysol and equal amounts of water.Does the trick very well,then put up some sort of gate in the doorway entering your carpet area to prevent your pet from getting on the carpet.

Well, my dogs stink too!

What I do: Buy dog cologn from Wal-Mart. They sell a good smelling dog cologn there, that works WONDERS. I bathe my dog and then afterwards spray her with the dog cologn. Also, I bought the self-spraying air freshener from Wal-Mart that's only 9 dollars, and 3 dollars for a refill canister. That thing works wonders too.
