My neighbor has a daughter who has a big lab. I have 2 small yorkies. We have a chainlinked fence separating the yards. When the lab comes to visit he charges the chainlink fence and gets under it and in my yard. He has bitten one of my dogs before, dont know if it was playing or not. Needless to say my dogs are terrified of the dog. I am a bit scared of him myself. This has happen multiple times with not even an apology from my neighbor or daugther. Any advice??

If your neighbors don't care about the situation, then your first step is to be pro-active. Do not let your dogs outside when you can't personally watch them. If the lab is in the other yard, bring them out on leashes and carry a hose. If the lab tries to run for the fence, squirt him with the hose in the face. DO NOT take matters into your own hands and hit the dog, beat the dog, or any other type of physical action that may harm the dog. Your dogs should not be alone outside in an unsecure fence anyway.
Your next step is to calmly talk to your neighbors about it. Let them know that you are scared and that your dog has already been bitten. Offer to go 50-50 on reparing the fence and making it lab proof. Make it clear that if he continues to damage the fence, they will be responsible. If he balks or refuses, then tell him you've been left with no other option than to call the police. Explain that you don't want to, but for your safety and the safety of your animals, you have to. Keep calling the police each time they violate ANY laws. And check your yard frequently to make sure that they aren't throwing poisoned meat or anything dangerous over the fence. And NEVER leave your dogs out alone. People are cruel and will retaliate against animals because they are cowards.

I'd try talking to the neighbor one last time. Ask him if they can put the dog on a chain when they put him out. Tell him you're afraid of the dog, it's bitten your dogs, whether play or not, it doesn't belong in your yard. Tell them you will start calling animal control. Be sure to follow through with it. Either the neighbor will get tired of dealing with AC, or AC will get tired of you calling all the time. Something will get done. I don't know why people have to be such jerks with their animals, and won't restrain/control them. Also, at this point, I'd say your "friendly neighbor relationship" will be over if it isn't already lol..
Tell your neighbors that the next time their dog comes into your yard,you will call animal control. Then do it! They won't like you ever much..But, they won't even apologies, they aren't that good of a neighbor anyway. But a big dog can kill one of your dogs with one bite!
first of all you need to confront your neighbor about this situation, and then if they don't want to take care of this problem then you might have to call animal control and let them know about the problem that you are having, they will take care of it for you. so try to confront them first and then see what happens, but try to do that and if that won't work then make the call.
if I was you I would tell the neighbor, that they need to keep their dogs in there yard and you will keep your dogs in your yard,,, and tell them that one of their dogs bit one your dogs and that your are in fear of your dogs life and your own life,,, Tell him that it is his responsabilty to keep control of his dogs and the next time they come over in to your yard then you will be making a phone call to the local police and the local ASPCA, and then when the dogs do come into your yard the next time then you make the phone call and tell the police and the ASPCA that you are in fear for your life and your dogs lives of these dogs cause they have already bit your dog and you want something done,,, No one should have to live in fear of a dog so that is my advise to you and hope this helps with your situation,,,, and good luck
You should notify animal control.
first of all, labs LOVE people, and I tink the dog is jsut playing. i have two labs that are sweet as apple pie.lol.anyway, both of my dogs like to play fight and so the dog is probably just playing. i would first ocnfront the neighbor, he may not know about this problem, i know from experience. i had a neighbor whose dog kept breaking my fence adn ocming into our yard. my neighbor was not aware of this problem. also if this still happens once you have confrionted them, call the landlord(if they have one) or call the call teh animal control. preferably the humane society

Is your neighbor aware of everything that you posted in your question? If they are not aware, then you owe it to them to tell them what the dog is doing.
I would go talk to them . If they say they were not aware of any of this, then explain it to them. At that time I would ask them what they are going to do to remedy the situation. Explain that you are afraid for your dogs and yourself. If the Lab was playing, that is too bad. That has nothing to do with your fear for your dogs or yourself. I would ask them nicely to take care of the problem immediately. Repair the fence now or don't allow the Lab out in the yard until it is repaired.
DO NOT take any excuses or time lines. It needs to be done NOW. It is your yard and they are violating your rights. Plain and simple. If it is not addressed immediately, tell them you are going to notify the authorities and do just that.
Let the owner of the big lab know , If they do not want to here it. Call animal control. And if they continue call the police about . Is there a leash law? If so the lab owners in the long run will have to pay for your dogs vet bill. Check it out with animal control
