what do you give a pitbull for chewing he chews everthing constatnley?
Answers:
Rawhide chewies,,toys,,ball.
go buy him one of those rawhide bones
your couch? your leg? your mother-in-law?
give him a cop thats what i like to feed mine
http://www.petsmart.com/global/product_d.
These are awesome for super strong chewers.
give him something that he's allowed to chew. nylabones makes these gallileo bones that are extra strong and last forever.
anybody you dont like
My pit bull loves the rawhide chew toys! Not only do they have a blast, but it keeps their teeth free from plaque.
there is a spray for pets that chew called "bitter apple" spray it on things that he likes to chew on, and encourage chew toys.
enroll him in a dog training school
buy him bones.%26 train him to chew only that nothing else.
Hmm, is he crate trained? He should be taught to be in a crate when you are not home so he won't choke on something he should not be chewing on. Or is he chained up outside? It may be he is bored. How old is he? If under 2 he may still be teething some. Best things I have found are smoked cow hooves. They are pretty cheap and last a long time!
Kongs, My aunts Am staffs LOVE them! You can fill them with wet food and it will keep him busy for a long time.
Do not give your dogs rawhides, or pigs ears. They can contain harmful chemicals or salmonella, my parents dog got sick from them. Many dogs get sick from them.
Rawhide isn't really good for dogs. They can't digest it and it petrifies (gets extremely hard) inside their stomachs. I don't suggest it. I had a dog that had major organ damage done by a piece of rawhide he ingested.
If you want your dog to stop chewing on things around the house, there's a spray you can buy at your local pet store called Sour Apples or something like that. It tastes horrible and they won't want to chew something that isn't appetizing.
Good luck.
pits are power chewers. buy some beef sticks(dried bull penis) but not rawhide chews. Kong toys are my dogs favorite. he may be just bored, give him plenty of exercise. 40 minutes+ of walking a day
go to the pet store and buy it the biggest bone they have thats what i did they work wonders they have smoked ones he liked that one better i guess because of the flavor
A bullet-
no seriously, if he is young-give him something to chew and restric access to things you do not want destroyed. Dogs chew til they are 18-30 months old.
put everything up high, im sorry to be the one to tell you this but he wont stop chewing til hes close to two yrs old
i have bought every hard rubber toy i could find he did chew on them but when i was gone he would eat the cds, dvds, remotes, chair legs you name it my dog has chewed it up good luck
Watch the Dog Whisperer. Do not yell at the dog beat up and yell at the thing they are chewing sounds dumb but works.
what about those buddy balls?
I have a 60 lb German Shepard and he is also a major chewer! They chew a lot when they are bored so make sure he/she gets LOTS of exercise at least an hour a day! But this is my Buds FAVORITE chew snack and it is great to cure their bordness when you can't be around! But exercise is always number one!!
http://www.petsmart.com/global/product_d.
they are very mouth orintated and you need to find oy and treats he likes ex: a kong filled with peanutbutter or cheese in a tube, or rawhide, or boiled bones from a meat market, there are balls and cubes you fill with kibble or treats that he would roll around to get out the food..you may have to try a few to find his fav. and maybe have a couple to tade off so he dose not get bored of one or the other.toys, treats, and things to do.good luck!!=)
Offer him some rawhides. HOWEVER, one of my dogs only likes certain flavors of rawhides so I'd suggest getting a variety bag (they sell them at Petsmart).
Also, if the chewing is a nuisance, I've learned to increase your puppy's exercise. I'm a fan of the "Dog Whisperer" and have learned if you take your doggie out for longer walks or out more frequently, they will be less likely to chew on stuff. It worked for my Min Pin!
give him rawhide or make a duct tape ball about 5 inches and they will love it and it is cheap and easy to make or give them a tug of war rope
Best thing I've found are hard rubber Kongs, and large cow bones. They'll be at it for hours.
What do you feed your Jack Russell Terrier?
I have an amazing jack russell, he is almost 10 years old and we rescued him when he was 2. We buy his dry food from whole foods (it has a lot of vegetables and organic grains) which he absolutely loves. Now, wet food is another story. I have tried a few brands but his stomach is very sensitive and the past couple nights he has been throwing it all right back up!
He just had a check up so I know there is nothing wrong with him, I just want to know what other owners feed their Jacks and find out if there is maybe a gentle senior brand of wet food we can give him. thanks!
Answers:
I feed my Jacks Eagle Pak Holistic dry kibble. They also get a dollop of canned Pumpkin, not the kind used to make pies, and to the on on a diet I use green beans as a filler. I add just enough hot water to stir in the green beans and pumpkin. I feed twice a day. My Jacks also get vegetables such as carrots and broccoli. I play Flyball with my Jacks and they are in excellent physical condition.
My opinion would be feed the dry kibble until they can no longer eat the dry. It is good for their teeth as well as helps them eat slower if they are a dog that devours their food.
>Yorkies%26lt;
keep him on dry food as long as he can eat it
You could always forget the can food altogether and just keep him on senior kibble. They don't need soft food in there diet. There are a few good brands. but a good alternative is cooking human food! It's actually good for them to get cooked meats and veggies. Be sure not to put spices in and do a little research on what food is better.
I have a JRT and he does not eat moist food. They need lots of protein because they are so active so I cook some meat and vegetables for him. But if you don't have the time try Wysong, it's a natural food no too many preservatives which is what makes old dog get sick. They have senior moist, and dry dog food. And also old dogs could use some probiotics, enzymes and vitamins and Wysong have them all. Try. It is sold only at Soldan. Good luck.
I worked for a vet. He would tell you to keep him on dry food as long as he will eat it. If the food you feed him comes in a senior version for small dogs feed it to him. There is no reason to switch to moist unless he is missing teeth. The dry helps with the tarter and plaque off his teeth.

what do you feed a dog that can`t have corn. I`m on a fixed income and can`t afford the dog food without corn.
Answers:
The world's oldest dog in the Guinness Book lived to be 27 years old, on a vegan diet! She was a Border Collie, who lived in UK, and only died last year, after a healthy 27 years. She was fed a diet of Lentils and rice with vegetables in season..Lentils and rice is CHEAP!
Table scraps.
Please don't get pets if you can't afford to take care of them.
Not table scraps.
That would just mess with their digestive system.
You can cook their food, however. I know that rice is good, mixed with some sort of meat. Be sure to ask a vet because you can end up doing more damage than good if you're not cooking the right things.
If it's a small dog, try cat food, they love it and its mostly meat products. If not read the labels carefully of other canned dog foods.
Depends on the breed. DO NOT COOK THE MEAT OR GIVE TABLE SCRAPS! Raw meat has all the nutrients. Buy a book. On the other hand, for a large dog, it could still be a little pricy

See if there are any programs in your area that help people feed their animals. Locally, we have a program run by people in our vet clinic that is like 'meals on wheels' for pets. Ask you vet or local shelter about this. If they say no, try calling other vets until you've exhausted the list.
If this does not work out, then it's time to start reading labels at the store. Visit a petsmart or petco.
I know that Blue Buffalo adult dog food doesn't have corn.
Natural Choice by Nutro Lamb %26 Rice is also corn free. It's basically a dollar a pound for the dry food. Less for the large bag.
Solid Gold is also Corn Free, is much higher quality, but is also more expensive.
Sensible Choice Lamb %26 Rice is corn free. Also about $1 a pound.
More Corn Free products available at PetCo:
Natural Balance
Nature's Recipe "Easy to Digest"
Castor %26 Pollux Organic Adult
Wysong Anergen
Sensible Choice Chicken %26 Rice
Ones that typically include corn are:
Science Diet
Iams
Eukanuba
Nutro Max
ProPlan
Royal Canin
most supermarket brands
I truly hope this helps you out. : )
Read the labels on the lower end dog foods. Some of the store brand dog foods use rice instead of corn. I'm not positive but I believe both Target and Walmart have "house" brand dog foods without corn as an ingredient.
Additionally, many pet stores have a bin of "scratch %26 dent" pet food - bags that tore in stocking, etc that they have marked down. Check for these in your pet stores.
Another thing you can do is ask your local pet stores about discounts for Senior Citizens or disabled people (as you are on a fixed income one assumes you are either disabled or a Senior Citizen) or if they know of any local organizations that help with low income pet issues such as yours.
If your dog is a small one many store brand cat foods have no corn so you could try feeding him cat food without corn in it, too.
Another thing you can do is identify a list of those dog foods that do not have corn as an ingredient and clip coupons for them or even look online for coupons for those varieties of dog food.
Another thing I wanted to mention is that foods without corn are more easily digestible and often your dog won't need to eat as much of them to meet his requirements. A more nutritious bag of dog food may cost more pound for pound but your dog may well eat less of the corn free food making the cost of feeding him the same over the course of a month as with corn based food. He'll also poop less, smell better, and stop itching.
Rice is one of the cheapest food around, it is also very good for your dog, it is easy to digest and is easy on a sensitive or older dog.
You could mix half rice (NO salt) and half the dog food that is within your budget.
My area does not have any programs that assist with care of your animals. Hopefully there is one in your area.
Some stores will offer a nice discount on bags that are torn or have been on the shelves longer. You can always ask if there are any damaged or older bags available.
For me rice is the best answer, as I am on a fixed income also, I can buy the better feed and mix it with the rice. I usually get the rice in the larger bags from the discount stores, not the major outlet stores.
What do you DVM's thinkg of Raw Diets?
Any vets out there have an opinion on raw food diets? I have two dogs that are six years old, and they've been on cheapish kibble since we've got them. I've heard a lot about the benefits of raw diets - based on meat, bone, and organs. I'm thinking of giving it a try, but I want to talk to our vet first. Since it's late, I'm wondering if there's any DVMs that hang out on Answers. Thanks!
Answers:
Lots of vets have written books about it: Richard Pitcairn, Don Hamilton, Martin Goldstein, Robert Strombeck, etc.
I am sure there are many Yahoo groups you can join to learn about BARF (biologically appropriate raw food) or do a search for BARF. Robert Lonsdale is head of the Australian veterinary association and I think something will come up if you enter his name. Many breeders of cats and dogs wean their youngsters to a raw meat diet and insist that owners follow through on this food for the pet's life.
I feed my cats a raw diet (with a supplement powder). Dogs are much easier to switch to raw food and they can also have cooked meat (cats need to have it raw).
When you have a beef stew for dinner it is a perfect meal for your dog - meat, carrots, potatoes all done up in a delicious gravy. Don't know about onions and dogs though - onions a no-no for cats.
A raw diet is great as long as you do the research and make sure you are feeding a proper balance.
Well if none answer I can tell you now that most will be opposed to it. I can also tell you that they get kick-backs from dog food company's and the vets know they would be out of business without the dog food industry. There's a British magazine that you can find at Hastings called Dogs Today. Read the article from this month in it about raw feeding. It will be a wonderful eye opener. I knew a little of how it all worked and already was convinced to feed raw but after reading what the vets said in there I'm convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt.
Edit: To the above answer; NO ONIONS FOR DOGS!! And cooked meat is never good for dogs. It won't hurt them to my knowledge but won't help them either. No cooked bones either.
yOUR CHANCES OF FINDING AN ACTUAL VET ON PetQnA.com ARE VERY SLIM, I AM NOT A VET BUT I WILL TELL YOU I FEED MINE THE RAW DIET. THEY ARE HEALTHY AND HAVE SHINY FUR NO HEALTH PROBLEMS AND NO ALLERGIES.
YOU WILL FIND THAT THIS DIET IS AN VERY CONTRIVERSIAL SUBJECT AS ALOT OF PEOPLE BELIEVE IN THE PET FOOD INDUSTRY AND DO NOT BELIEVE THESE COMPANIES PUT POISON INGREDIANTS INTO THE FOOD. EUTHANIZED SICK LIVESTOCK NOT FIT FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION GOES INTO THE MAKING OF THE DOG FOOD AND BELIEVE IT OR NOT CERTAIN PET FOODS CONTAIN EUTHANIZED DOGS AND CATS
I AM NOT SAYING ALL DOG FOODS ARE BAD AS YOU DO HAVE GOOD ONES LIKE INNOVA, SOLID GOLD, CALIFORNIA NATURAL AND A FEW OTHERS, BUT 90 PERCENT OF THE CHEAPER FOODS ARE NO GOOD FOR YOUR DOG. THE CORN IN THE DOG FOODS ARE THE BIGGEST INGREDIANT FOR CAUSING ALLERGIES.
YOUR VET WILL NOT RECOMMEND THE RAW DIET AS THEY KNOW THE RAW DIET IS BETTER FOR YOUR DOG, THEY RATHER PROMOTE THE CRAPPY SCIENCE DIET THAT HAS A BIG FACTOR IN ALLERGIES ALSO AS THEY GET A 40 PERCENT PROFIT ON ALL FOOD THEY SELL. THEY DO NOT PROMOTE IT FOR NUTRITIONAL REASONS THEY PROMOTE IT FOR PROFIT.
IF YOU DECIDE TO FEED THE RAW DIET PLEASE DO THE RESEARCH ON IT FIRST, BUT IT IS AN EXCELLANT WAY TO GO. I RECENTLY HAD A SHELTIE THAT DIED AT 20 YEARS OLD IN PEOPLE YEARS OF OLD AGE. SHE WAS FED THE CRAPPY SCIENCE DIET THE FIRST 9 YEARS OF HER LIFE AND SUFFERED FROM SEVERE ALLERGIES. WHEN I GOT HER I SWITCHED HER TO THE RAW DIET, SHE LIVED 11 MORE HEALTHY YEARS NEVER SEEING A VET DUE TO SICKNESS AND DIED OF OLD AGE. IF THIS DIET IS SO WRONG THEN WHY DID MY VET TELL ME THAT HE DOES NOT PROMOTE THE RAW DIET, BUT IT WORKED FOR MY DOG AND TO CONTINUE WHAT I WAS DOING. LIKE I SAID RESEARCH IT FIRST, BUT ASK PEOPLE THAT DO FEED THE RAW AND READ LITERATURE ON IT THAT WOULD BE THE BEST BET, NOT GOING THROUGH THE VET ON THIS ONE, VETS ARE NOT NUTRITIONISTS THEY ARE PET DOCTORS.

what do you do?
my friend's dog got stuck in another dog if you know what i mean. she just left them for her neighbor to deal with it. what should she do if it happens again?
Answers:
they should never be forced apart..EVER! It can cause serious damage and infection..there is not much she could do, as you can't move the dogs, and she was likely very embarrassed..However, it WAS very irresponsible to allow her dog to bre free ( off leash) around a female in heat.as were the owners of the female, to not protect their dog.. If the dog did it in the neighbor's yard, she needs to take part responsibility for the litter.. Paying for 1/2 of their vet visits, shots and worming, as well as helping to find homes for the puppies..
It is a wonder that the neighbor didn't harm her dog.. she owes them an apology and more if the female was in her own yard.
well.unstuck them.
Hmmm, take some warm water and try to pull them apart gently. I heard certain kinds of oils work too. Good luck!
Anythin is possible in love n war. hehe.. its the dog's own personal life.. give them some privacy.. hehe
Keep her dog at home.or on a leash. We are overun with strays who are put to sleep everyday, have children who are bitten by "harmless" pets and.its the law here.Dude, keep an eye on your dog!
the will Get Unstuck when they are Done with the Dirty Deed it Natural
DO NOT PULL THEM APART! You can seriously injure them if you do. Just leave them be, it will be over soon. She should get them fixed so it doesn't happen again, if the female isn't yet get ready for puppies.
Either spray them with a water hose or let them be. The water from the hose will break them apart.
It's called - "locked on" and i'm not sure that there is nything you can do, I've heard stories where the dogs were locked on for hours you just have to wait until the male is no longer aroused - I think
yikes. that's a "sticky" one. hehe. perhaps entice them with food and toys? Or. spray them with water? very good question.
why are people these days. wanting to turn animals and stuff into like a machine or something. WHY.. Why do they want their dogs to behave like humans.. WHy are they expecting their dogs to have the conciousness like humans? DOgs are animals.. it's their nature to do it.. and you're trying to prevent it. from happening, that's like imprison the dog if you know what i mean..If you gonna have dogs. please expect that to happen.. I mean i've seen people tide their dogs' overy tubes or whatever so they can't reproduce. now that's CRUEL against animals right there..I would seriously just let them do it. stop thinking that dogs are humans and suppose to behave like us.. If it happens again and again and again.. let it be..
isnt that embarrassing? That used to happen to our neighbors dogs. They would just walk around all day long like that. There was nothing we could do. You cant pull them apart, as the penis flares out inside the female dog.
Its natural. After sometime they will apart. You should not interfere in their work.
Wow all I see is BAD ADVICE with the exception of one answer. First it's called a tie, and you cannot pull the dogs apart without causing serious injury to both the bitches vagina and the dogs penis. The only thing you can "try" is pushing the two together which is thought to relieve the tension and allow the swelling to go down on both dog and **. It doesn't often work so letting nature take it's coarse is a wise idea. A better idea is to keep the dogs properly contained so they can't get out and make MORE stray and unwanted puppies that will be sentenced to death. People really need to get their dogs fixed so this doesn't happen because we have enough problems as it is.
fire a finger up the male dogs ..this will kill his hard on and it will be buisness as usual..of course wash your hands afterwards.
throw cold water on them
Get him neutered. Because now she won't be able to keep him from running off when there is a female in heat somewhere. Male dogs can literally smell a female in heat from many miles away. And will seek them out at any cost. Including fighting other dogs for the right to breed. And he could run out in front of car and get killed if he's running around loose like that. Beside if he's running around breeding with female dogs in the area he's creating alot of unplanned and unwanted puppies. And alot of times these poor innocent pups end up in the pound where they are put down if there not adopted after awhile. Or in not so good homes. And that's not fair to them. So tell your friend to be responsible. Because it's not the her dogs fault. It's his natural instinct. Neuter him he will most likely live longer.
u really into dog sex huh?
Please, tell your friend to have her pet neutered or spayed, as soon as possible. If she can't afford a lot of money she can contact her local SPCA. They offer reduced spaying and neutering service. There are so many strays out in the world. Also, there are so many being put to sleep because no one wants them. I feed feral cats who live around my apartment complex. Their owners deserted them ,left them to fend for themselves. These poor animals are not spayed or neutered, they start breeding having litter after litter; which subjects more cats to desperate, miserable, short lives. I love animals, and it breaks my heart to see them. I will see the same cat for a year maybe, then I don't see them anymore, and know they have met their unfortunate, preventable demise.
P.S Attention Tank D. What are you thinking? its natural, you need a wake up call. Why don't you go to an animal shelter or SPCA and learn about how people like you are committing a crime for not neutering their pets, You don't consider the outcome of your moronic irresponsible views of spaying and neutering pets. You sound like one of these immature irresponsible, "little boys" who go out and get girls pregnant and think nothing of the lives they are creating or affecting. Grow up.
what do you mean by stuck?*_*
I didn't know what do either, until I saw my neighbor spray them with a water hose.
It Worked
My boyfriend says, "let them finish" :)

You sound like one of these immature irresponsible, "little boys" who go out and get girls pregnant and think nothing of the lives they are creating or affecting. Grow up.
what do you mean by stuck?*_*
I didn't know what do either, until I saw my neighbor spray them with a water hose.

My boyfriend says, "let them finish" :)
What do you do with a dogs body when it dies?
My dog might die soon. JW

when my dog died we buried her in the back yard, but if live somewhere where that isnt an option, a lot of places have pet cemetaries. gimme a sec and i'll get you a link http://www.4everinmyheart.com/ http://www.co-dog.com/canine/dog-health-. heres a couple links to get you started in your search for the right way to honor your deceased pet, i'm really sorry for loss, losing a pet is always hard.
you can have your dog creamated !
Many vets offer cremation services where you can get the ashes back. or just have him cremated without getting the ashes back. .otherwise they usually just end up in the landfill with the trash. :-(
You have it cremated or bury it.
I haven't had to deal with that yet, but I am told that there are people who can make a sculpture that looks like your dog, and place the ashes inside. I'l probably do that when the time comes for me.
There are cremation and burial services for animals, check your yellow pages or call a local vet and ask for the information.
Bury it
If it is in pain, take it to an animal rescue hospital and have it "put down". They take care of the body for you. I think its ok to bury it in the yard or in some woods too.
You can have him cremated, or find a special place in your yard that you designate as his. Plant flowers, even a small grave marker with his name on it. I'm sorry your dog is ill.
well there are several suggestions. First, you can bring it to a local vet and they will dispose of it. Second, you can bury it in your back yard. third you can have a doggy funeral check you local yellow pages for animal cemeteries and yes they do exist
In the past, growing up, all my pets were buried in my back yard. Now, because I know I won't live forever in my home, I will have my dogs cremated and either placed in a nice urn or box for me to keep forever.
Sorry to hear this.
wrap in a towel or blanket - or put it in a box and bury it in your yard or in a flower bed.
Be Blessed!
pet cemetery
or a private place in your own garden in which you can can look and tend to it when you feel the need
Bury it in a safe place or one of it's favorite places. Sorry about your dog. That must stink.
early sincere grief of your loss, I've got my own little pet cemetary in my 50 acre yard in Ontario. all the pets have been buried. but I had a friend who cremated his own pet.
We had Peanut 8 wonderful years before she passed on. We had her creamated and she now sleeps on the top of our waterbed.
fire up the grill and get out your best steak knives.
bury him in his favourite place in the garden
In some foreign countries and in parts of the American South, a ceremony is held, with friends and family.
Its called a Barbeque.
Or failing that a shallow grave. Next to your victims.Public parks and golf courses can be excellent sources of lightly used real estate.
It depends on where you live. In a town I lived in outside of LA, you couldn't bury your animals in your backyard under city ordinance, So the only option was cremation. It cost about $80 and your receive your dog's ashes in a very nice locked box that you can bury if you choose. I'm sorry about your dog. I know it's a tough thing to face.
Flush it down the toilet.
I am so sorry. I had to put one my dogs to sleep 18 months ago(17 yrs old) and our other one 3 months ago (16 yrs old). I still cry.
We chose to cremate our pets in a private cremation. We have their ashes on our fireplace mantel with their pictures beside them. Our township does not allow the private burials of animals. The pet can either be cremated individually or with a general cremation.
We burried our dog in the back yard. However, if that's not an option, you can have them cremated via your vet or even the local shelter.
Best wishes.
I am so sorry about your dog. We own our land, so our dogs are buried here. We have buried several of them over the years. If you live in an apartment or rent elsewhere, you might want to have the dog cremated. Or they have pet cemeteries where you can bury them. Again, I am so sorry about your dog.
BURY IT! Duh :o
Pet cemetaries offer an option and your vet will offer to cremate as well and you have the option to take the ashes.
My MIL had her old dog put to sleep after many beautiful years with her best friend. She wanted to bury her in the back yard, but to be safe about the the potential issues of contaminating local water sources, I know she added something that speeds up the decomposition of the body, I think it was lime, but not sure. You'd have to check your local ordinances tho to see and if you live in the country and choose to bury, be sure to do it safely away from any well water source.
Sorry to hear that your dog might be gone soon.
Drag him to the curb and call dead animal pick up. It it is a small animal bury him.
If someone in your family died what would you do?
my dog titan was cremated and we had his ashes mixed in a candle and the candle is in the form of the type of dog he was.

What do you do with a dog that chews up everything you own?
Answers:
Take responsibility for your own belongings: If you don't want it in your dog's mouth, don't make it available. Keep clothing, shoes, books, trash, eyeglasses, and remote control devices out of your dog's reach.
Don't confuse your dog by offering him shoes and socks as toys and then expecting him to distinguish between his shoe and yours. Your dog's toys should be clearly distinguishable from household goods.
Until he learns the house rules, confine him when you're unable to keep an eye on him. Choose a "safe place" that's dog-proof, and provide fresh water and "safe" toys. If your dog is crate trained, you may also place him in his crate for short periods of time.
Give your dog plenty of people-time. Your dog won't know how to behave if you don't teach him alternatives to inappropriate behavior, and he can't learn these when he's in the yard by himself.
If, and only if, you catch your dog chewing on something he shouldn't, interrupt the behavior with a loud noise, offer him an acceptable chew toy instead, and praise him lavishly when he takes the toy in his mouth.
Have realistic expectations. At some point your dog will inevitably chew up something you value; this is often part of the transition to a new home. Your dog needs time to learn the house rules and you need to remember to take precautions and keep things out of his reach.
Chewing is normal behavior for curious puppies who may be teething, but adult dogs may engage in destructive chewing for any number of reasons. In order to deal with the behavior, you must first determine why your dog is chewing鈥攁nd remember, he's not doing it to spite you.
wow umm thats tough.but you could try putting the dog outside or putting it in one room.but if that dont work you could always put a muzzle on it.
What is his favorite thing of yours to chew? Cover it in hot sauce and leave it available (unless he's like my crazy dog and actually *likes* the stuff-- the hotter the better he likes it!)
Get snoopy some more stuff to chew!
Get rid of the dog or become a responsible dog owner. You shouldn't have a dog. You can't train it or take care of it!
bye it a baby fence sor like human babies let it sleep in there let it out to eat but make sure you have alot of chew toys in there and if your dog has a training problem if you keep it in there it will learn to hold it and it wont go in there to go to the bathroom
Set up some rat traps and let 'em at it. That mutt will reconsider ever touching anything after that!
Try to keep the main areas of attack out of reach or locked away somewhere. Make sure also that your dog has plenty toys and that you spend an adequate amount of time playing with him. Boredom leads to destructive behaviour. Also when you're out keep the dog in a room with minimum things to chew on.
Either get this dog a chew toy or build it a dog house outside.
Let me know too. I just put spicy pepper on a couple things to see if he gets the hint and stops chewing whatever he feels is his
Make sure you have everything put up so he can't get to anything. Then spray everything else w/ bitter yuck or bitter apple. Then when they do start chewing on something give them a negative marker. Make sure he has plenty that is ok to chew on.
sprinkle some ground up black pepper or cajun spice on the stuff
your dog is chewing on..he wont any more..easy way with out causing any harm to the dog.
good luck!!
Nylabones and Kongs! You can find either at any pet store. The Kongs are hollow in the middle so you can stuff them with food to keep the dog occupied. Keeps him busy and cures boredom. He's most likely bored/lonely.
Some good daily exercise will help a lot too, to work off nervous energy.
you can either get rid of it or train it not to chew stuff up. Like get the dog its own toys and make sure all of your stuff is up, so if it wants to chew on your things it has to reach for them and when it reaches you tell it NO and make sure it understands a that reaching, snooping and chewing will not be tolerated, whatever. they eventually get the hint
Is it a dog or a puppy? Puppies chew just to chew.
Dogs like to be in a pack, and when they are alone (while their human is at work) they get lonely. Attention and inclusion are very important.
My dog pulled a kleenex out of the trash the other day and shredded it. He hasn't done that in years. I had been busier than normal for a week and hadn't given him as much attention as he was used to. He was just trying to tell me he needed more.
Consider extra exercise for the dog, a couple of toys just for the dog to chew, and lots of extra attention coupled with positive reinforcement of wanted behavior. Good luck!
ha ha!!
Pay more attention to it , play games and take it to dog training.
It wants you to run after it and say it's bad,to get you involved.
what do you do when your dogs eye swells up?
my dog is a male rotty and about an hour ago my boyfriend and i took both of my dogs to a yard so they could play around a little, there is a lot of sharp object is this yard though. and then when we got home i noticed around his left eye a little bit of swelling. not the eyeball but the skin around it. could it be a black eye for dogs or?
Answers:
Take him to the vet and please, clean up the yard!
He was probably scratched by the other dog or something else.If it dont go down or starts to get worse in the morning take him to the vet.Dogs are really tough and can handle alot of this type thing. He should be fine but taking him to the vet may make you and your dog feel better
I'd take him to the vet to make sure there's nothing serious. He may have a wound that needs treating.
I would first take him to a vet to see if it is a wound, allergies, a bee sting, etc. My dog's eyes started swelling and it was because of allergies and the vet told us we could just give him benedryl. Here's some info on benedryl and dogs from about.com:
Benadryl for Dogs or Cats
Benadryl is a brand name for an anti-histamine (diphenhydramine). Although it is considered fairly safe for use in dogs and cats, please be aware that it does have potential adverse side effects. It may interact with other meds that your pet is taking, so do not use it without first consulting your veterinarian. You should also use extreme caution using Benadryl in dogs that have glaucoma, prostatic disease, cardiovascular disease or hyperthyroidism.
Benadryl is quite effective when used in proper dosages.
Stops itching
Controls vomiting
Good for motion sickness
Can be used as a mild tranquilizer
Good for snake bites
Useful for vaccination reactions
Good for bee stings and insect bites
Be sure to use only the plain Benadryl formula. Giving benadryl with other combination of meds could be fatal, so be sure to read the box.
Liquid Benadryl is too high in alcohol content to be safely used for animals. Please use capsule or pill form.
Dosage every 8 hours
Dogs under 30 lbs and Cats : 10 mg
Dogs 30-50 lbs: 25 mg
Dogs over 50 lbs: 50 mg
hopefully this helps, and also, I would reccommend finding a new yard with less sharp objects to play in for future outings.
Take him to the vet. He could have scratched his cornea as well as his lids. Dogs will paw at their eyes and make it worse. The doc will give your dog some drops to help him heal and probably a collor to keep him from getting at his eye. Keep the collar for future use, dogs will butcher themselves if you leave them to themselves. Only guys think dogs heal themselves.

what do you do when your dog poops on the floor?
Answers:
remember to take her out next time or more often
Just clean it up, it does't happen very often.
clean it up
Clean it up!!
Let the cat eat it.or
Clean it up
or drop it in the fish tank
clean it up.
:)
and then disinfect it.
OTHERWISE it'll keep going there.
If there is any scent at all.
Especially if you have another dog, it'll go there too!
Well, my dogs have never done that since they were little puppies, but I would assume that you would clean it up.
Clean it up and take them outside to the bathroom more often. If they're doing after you feed them, take them outside soon after you feed them.
If I catch the puppy in the act, I say "outside" very stern, then take her out to finish. If I didn't catch her in the act, I just clean it up as disciplining after the deed is done is useless.
Well,
you do not force it but carefully make it look at it then you make them do something not that bad , that they do not like then kinda say bad dog you know that is my opinion. You are welcome.
Clean it up.
clean it up if you didn't catch her or if you did throw her out to finish and say no sternly. it worked with my dog.
clean it up.
What do you do when your dog chokes and can't breath? Heimlich Maneuver?
Answers:
If your dog was chocking when you wrote this, it is most likely dead by now. so I am hoping you are asking this question for future reference
http://www.healthyhappydogs.com/cpr.
http://www.pgaa.com/canine/health/dogcpr.
http://members.aol.com/henryhbk/acpr.htm.
go to a nearest dog hosptital
or
do the same thing wen a baby chokes
rub underneath its throat, if that doesnt work, lift it up slightly with its head down and then rub underneath the throat.
I actually have a chart on my fridge that shows how to do this properly on a dog, as well as CPR. I'm sure a dog supply store may carry something like this. Lots of folks think I'm crazy because I care that much about my dogs to keep something like this out. It's as important to me as having a poison hotline number.
ring the vet
lay him/her on their back
open mouth
pull tounge out so he/she doesn't choke
find object and rub throat
if URGENT do mouth to snout
what do you do when you lose lovable dog?
it is a york shire terria
Answers:
You cry, you grieve, you take time to heal. LOsing a beloved pet hurts as much as losing a family member, at least it does to true pet owners. Time will heal your broken heart. You will never forget your dog, but the hurt will lessen with time. So sorry for your loss.
I lost my 1st dog about 3 years ago. I got a new dog that reminds me of her and it really helped! I still miss her, but my new dog I love just as much and helped me get over my loss.
losing a pet is just like losing your best friend. time will heal. don't let people talk you into another pet until YOU are ready.
You mourn. There is nothing else. You lost a good friend, and a member of the family. It isn't easy, so don't expect it to be. Time will help, but don't be afraid to cry.
buy the same exact kind, or smoke a blunt
I have had to put down two of my dogs and it's not easy but what got me through was knowing you gave that dog a good life and while it was here you enjoyed it.
I get very sad, because a member of my family is gone forever. But time helps to heal the wounds. If you want, you could get another dog to help you forget the other dog a little. I know it`s not going to be the same, because every dog has its own personality and charms, but it really helps.
You get another, you are not replacing the old dog. There is another dog out there just waiting for you to love it. Go for it, you won't be disappointed.
Give yourself time to grieve for them. Take the time to remember the love that u shared together. That was God's gift to you.
I'm so sorry you lost your furry friend. I hope this poem makes you feel better:
Time To Go
The time has come I think you know
the Lord is calling so I must go
I love you so much; I wish it wasn't so
I wish I could stay; I don't want to go
You're the best family a dog ever had
so kind and gentle, never mean or mad
I'll never forget the day that we met
I was so lucky to become your pet
You opened your door and showed me your heart
I'll never forget you; we'll never part
You loved me and cared for me over the years
you taught me everything and took away my fears
The Lord is calling now I must go
but before I go I want you to know
I know it hurts to lose a friend
but I'll be with you even at the end.
You are getting some wonderful advice. Most of it anyway. I want to recommend a very sweet book you could read. It is a children's book, but I love it just the same. It helped me through the loss of my beloved Icon, and I send a copy to any of my friends who lose a dog. It is called "Dog Heaven" by Cynthia Rylant. Check and see if your local library has it, and then imagine your little yorkie in all the situations the author describes for dogs in Dog Heaven.
I have suffered the loss of three of my furry companions over the last three years. All of them were very dedicated to me and my family. One was a Norwegian Elkhound (14 years with me). One was a spaniel /pomeranian mix(16 years with me), and the last was a Great Pyranees/Shepherd mix(ten years with me). I still miss them greatly, however, I decided when I buried the last one that I would do what I could to help other canines. I went to several rescue shelters on line and read many heartbreaking stories of animals that were left in the lurches by their owners. I realized that I couldn't adopt everyone, but what I did do was to commit to take one and try to sell everyone I knew about the rescue shelters across America that good people who are willing to adopt one of these pets for their own. I did find the dog of my dreams, a female Beagle, Mollie May, and she and I are now working on our second year together. It doesn't replace my losses, but makes me feel better about all ready.
i lost my dog just this last march 13th 2006; her name was Holly. ever since i was about 5 years old i had her, it was VERY hard. i cried, and cried. dont hold on your sadness in, u could turn bitter and angry all the time. i couldnt show my sadness in front of my famlily, so i just went to my room screamed in my pillow and cried just about every night. try not to replace your dog for a new one, i dont think thats right. wait till u can talk about it and be comfortable with your loss.

Answers:
Give her lots of TLC-bringing her in the house if need be.
Feeding her whatever she'll eat (food wise). Sometimes dogs will mourn themselves to death over a lose of a love one.
take her to the vet or get another dog.maybe the company of the other dog kept her happy..
Wow, that is so sad. Maybe try walking Chewie alot and try to keep her mind preoccupied. Also a phone call to your vet for some advice.
I would take Chewie to the vet. I believe there are treatments for dogs when they are depressed like that. You need to have it checked out right away.
Would suggest taking her to vet to see if there is a cause due to some health issues that may be hiding. If none are found,I would most definately get her a companion to play with,as sometimes if there are no other dogs in their surroundings, some won't eat by themselves.Like a child with other children around,I guess they think one will get more than the other, andthis is why they eat better if another dog is around.
You need to have her checked by a vet first, too be sure its depression, and not something else. They also may prescribe you some puppy Prozac.. until she start getting back to herself.
I would also recommend getting her out.. take her for more car rides, walks, etc. instead of letting her just sit home and sulk.
Maybe a dog park, or daycare situation might also give her the interaction she is missing.
Good Luck!
Read Where the Red Fern Grows.and make sure you give her lots of TLC!
Sounds like you're projecting some of your own depression, which is natural. Get a puppy, start over, cherish the memory of Norton by naming the puppy Cramden (think Honeymooners)
get another puppy!

What do you do if your dogs eat/chew on roach bait?
Answers:
get them to the vet NOW!! Pour salt into their mouths to make them throw up as much of the poison as he can. get to the vet, now!!
what the hell is roach bait?
VET!NOW!x_x
dig a deep hole and wait
If you catch them doing it-mix up warm water 1/2 cup %26 table salt-3-4 tablespoons.
Pour it down his throat %26 he'll upchuck.
DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT..
It's fine. It wont make him sick. Our dog is trained to kill bugs in our house! =D
Get them to a vet immediately and make sure they never get hold of roach poison (or anything else poisonous either) again. Eating that could be fatal.
Go to the vet ASAP and get them looked at
Run to the emergency vet. This is poison!
attach a leash to the dog's collar. roll up a newspaper or magazine and put the roach bait on the floor near the dog. every time the dog gets near the bait pop the newspaper or magazine on your leg. the noise will startle the dog and after a few time will make them shy of going near the bait. you may have to reinforce this once or twice but eventually the dog will relate the noise to the bait and fear it.
When my mini-Dachshund ate ant poison I called the Poison Center and they recommend a weak solution of hydrogen peroxide. (I think it was a tablespoon per cup of water) Force the weak solution down her throat to induce regurgitation. It will not take long. She was fine. Look in the expectorant for the poison to make certain it was expelled. Good luck.
RUSH IT TO THE VET!
what do you do if your dog had six puppies and she was under the shed and it was about to rain what do you do?
Answers:
Well, that would NOT happen to me, since I take better care of my dogs than that.
crawl in there and get them but first lure the mother out with food.
Leave her alone..dogs arent stupid.she knows what she is doing.
As long as the shed is a relatively dry place, she'll be fine. (If it's not dry, consider draping an old blanket or something over that portion of the shed.)
It's more traumatic to move a new mommy and puppies.
i dont know
im vegetarian
Built a tent around them.
I would keep a close eye on her, to make sure nothing gets under the shed at the puppies. I would try to get her to bring me the puppies. But there is very little you could do. Is it possible to move the shed?
I would also try and seal the shed other three sides if possible.
Good luck.
I'd have to see the scene. But, when she gets hungry she will move out and move the pups. Put some food out for her and coax her to another location.
Don't worry about it. Lactating bitches have great maternal instincts and managed to survive in the wild for eons of time before being domesticated. She'll look after her puppies, and if she isn't happy where she was, she would pick them up and bring them into the house or some other site that she thought was better.
A little rain won't hurt the dog or the pups.
Nothing, the mother will know what to do. Dogs have been around a lot longer than you, they know how to take care of their young.
I would leave them all be, animals are smart enough to know when their pups are in danger.
well if you leave them out there they will die
She knows what she is doing, let her be alone for a while. She will come out when she is ready. Just watch over her.
what do you do if you dog eats its poop is it normal or what?
Answers:
well, my dog eats her poop 2..so far she's pretty normal..i think she does it because she thinks that she is going to get in trouble or something..
It is normal..but kind of sick to look at for most people. If it bothers you, change the food to something such as Purina One that would make the dog's stool less interesting to the dog. Sometimes bits of undigested food comes out in the stool and that's why the dog eats it again.
Eww I wouldn't eat any dog poop.
Alot of dogs do. You can buy special pills to give them that will make it taste bitter. Or make sure to clean it up right away.
You don't let the dog lick you in the face.
your dog shouldn't be eating poop since that is what is no supposed to be inthe body in the first place! So you need to some how prevent your dog from eating the poop!
Do Not Kiss Your Dog
Do Not Let Your Dog Kiss You
Yes, gross as it is,it is normal. Try giving him a bone to chew on instead.
sometimes a dog will eat its own poop, because the dog can tell by smell, that it wasn't completely digested the first time. Talk to your vet about a dog food that your dog can digest better, and it should solve the problem.
gross, but normal. in the winter my dad used to call them my dogs frozen treats.
Something in the food is being passed undigested. and he is eating it again----OR----He had a very bad HABIT--
Try forbid or distaste in his food.
haha crazy as it sounds it is normal, I had a dog once that did the same thing, the vet said they may be lacking some vitamin or something that causes them to do this. wierd i know.
It means they are not getting enough nutrition out of their dog food so switch the dog food
They have a pill you can give your dog, so when it poops and turns around to eat it, it will have a bitter taste to it. That will stop them from eating it. I forget the name of it, ask your Vet.
you can sprinkle meat tenderizer on the food, or buy a sprinkle from the vets that will cause the poop to taste bitter and this should break him/her. It is normal especially in small breed dogs.
go to a pet store. Buy some rabbit pellet food.
Each day add about 1/4 cup to your dogs daily rations.
What do you do for a dog that has diahrea?
Answers:
bring your dog to the veterinarian immediately. diarrhea is the cause for hook worms. your dog got it from eating dirty stuffs or eating its poopoo. if you take it longer your dog would be dehidrated and it will soon to die.
dont forget to deworm your dog every month to minimize your problem.
good luck.
Pepto Bismol
i put my dog in to the kennel and hope the dog will feel better next day
Well to answer this question we need to have a lot more info. So please add to your question. What is the age of your dog? How long has it had diarrhea? Does the dog also vomit? Is there blood in the diarrhea or vomit? Is the dog still playfull? Or does it want to sleep all day? Has it had all it's vaccinations? And is your dog still eating a normal amount of food?
Take it to the vet. if it isn't better in 24hrs.
Pepto Bismol
Change it's food and don't give it different types of food. they need a steady diet of one kind. Also, my dog gets it if he eats the cat food and table scraps.
dont feed the dog any human food, and make sure you dont change his/her's food. giver the dog the same type of food for every meal.
When my 14 year old Jack Russell got diahrea from taking antibiotics. I used Kayopectate and gave her some fiber powder on her food. you should hold food for 24hr. Then start with bland rice and chicken broth. They seem to like the kayopecktate. Use a syringe with out the needle and put it in the corner of the mouth. They will just lap it as you push the plunger. I did 5cc twice a day. That would be different with different dogs. Ask the vet.
you can feed it cooked rice and put some chicken broth in it.
pepto bismol works well also.
If it last any longer than 24 hr period then take it to the vet. try to keep it hydrated. you can tell if the dog is getting dehydrated by pulling up the skin on it's back if it goes back down really really slow then the dog is dehydrated. If it goes down fast then the dog is o.k. in that area.
Feed him/her cooked hamburger and white rice.unseasoned. That has worked for our Pomeranian. Halfpint mentioned rice w/ chicken broth. I've been told that chicken and rice works for cats.
What do you do .When your man is gone and your toy was chewed up by the dog?
I have a friend that is horney as hell.left her man .and dog chewed up her toy.She has no money to buy new toy. What should she do?
Answers:
Go find her a decent man.
sit on a dryer
Improvise, I'm sure if she is HORNY enough she can find something around there to substitute either one of them !! Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha!!
realize that if she cant live without sex she need help!!
she can come over to my house if she is cutem i can help.
i was told that a shower massager is great
lol Call the plumber ; >
Is there an opeing I can fit?
sounds like you are the horny one, you idiot.
index and middle finger work fine..or just take care of it yourself..
Why dont the both of you try it on, because you already know she horny minus her toy.
Must be a WEBCAM Scam. If not utilize free porn downloands on the internet and use your hand. Thats if you choose not to cheat.
try fruits and vegetables..I 've heard cucumbers work. Protected of course.
Hmmmmm. is her dog a male or female? maybe she could find something to do with her pets. Hey!! don't be sick.. what were all of you thinking.. haha.
Get a new toy or wait for her man to come back..
tie two socks together - makes a great toy for a dog.
talk to smebody i guess.
First of all she learn her lesson never leave anything where a dog can reach. Second of all she is just going to have to go for the real thing till she has $$ to buy new one. But don't blame the dog for it its always us people that leave things laying around then a dog gets bored and chews things up.
Why don't you go over there and pleasure her?
She could also get a un-ripe banana or cucumber for under a buck. Get a normal size cucumber though - don't ruin yourself down there!
Does she still have fingers that work?
well she still has the dog .
Perhaps if she got a job, she would have money. And be more desirable so a man would be interested in helping her. If she's desperate, she can always walk down the street and trick a little for money. Then when she's in prison one of the other prisoners will be happy to help.
Well Charlie I guess you have to help her. However if you're not interested, try Veggies, Fruits, shower massage, fingers, candles, geez tell her to use her imagination. Can't that hard.
Enjoy the jaggy bits the dog has made =P

What do yall think about breed specific legislation?
some people want to ban so called viscious breeds of dog mainly pitbutts. i thank this is the stupidest thing that i have ever heard of. what about yall.
Answers:
We live in Colorado and we were faced with a dilemma - give up our sweet dog to be euthanized or leave Denver. We chose to move. Our dog has never hurt anyone, would never hurt anyone - she just has unfortunate cheekbones and a boxy head. What if we couldn't leave? How humane is it to ask families to kill their pets when they haven't done anything?
I believe strongly in owner responsibility. People who's dogs attack should not only lose the animal but also be charged with assault or murder - in essence using the dog as a weapon. But we need to differentiate between a dog problem and a thug problem.
Breed bans do nothing but penalize responsible dog owners. People who seek to do awful things with animals - illegal things- don't give a crap about a law. They're not going to stop breaking a law because what they were using to break the law is illegal.
Plus breed bans are a slippery slope - we'll ban pits and pit mixes, say. Who decides what a dog is a mix of if the lineage is unknown? Shall we sacrifice boxer mixes, too, because they can look like a pit mix? What about American Bulldogs and mixes thereof?
Interestingly enough, most serious maulings and fatal attacks have one thing in common: the dog was unfixed male (of varying breeds - not just of pits). If we want to protect people, instead of banning or requiring seperate licensing of certain breeds, perhaps we should instead look at mandating spay/neuter.
There is no vicious breed of dog. And there is no dog breed called a pitbull (it's the American Staffordshire Terrier, or AmStaf).
I do too. I think that instead of prohibiting dogs that can be dangerous in the wrong hands (some breeds are a little more prone to being aggressive, tho I know that any dog can be), that owners should be moderated and possibly even need a liscense to own one of these breeds. It's nothing against the breed, but this would ensure that proper owners are caring for these rather than some idiot who wants their dog to be mean and aggressive. Don't ban the dog, ban the bad owners!
in my opinion:
BSL is wrong. They shouldn't be banning specific breeds, they should be banning specific people from having dogs period.
Perhaps people should have to have a license to own breeds that have more of a tendency towards violence. This would ensure only responsible owners would be able to have pitbulls, not idiots that plan on fighting them.
I think that all owners should be heavily penalized for any unwarranted dog bite..I don't believe it should be breed specific, but apply to all..
I mean BIG penalties, such as imposing a $5000 fine, and withholding driver's license until it is paid..that kind of penalty..
I also think there should be large penalties for aggressive dogs attacking other dogs.any breed, any time..
Right now, there are no such penalties, and such cases can only be heard in small claims court.
I believe hitting the wallet is the only way to get owners to be more responsible..
Its ridiculous. Lawmakers are the most misinformed people out there.
m'all thinks that it's people who breed dogs to be vicious. with rare exceptions an animal is not vindictive so figure it out. having a ban on certain types of owners is a better idea.
I like the idea of licenses for certain breeds. I also think that dog owners should be held liable for damages from their pets. If a parent can be held responsible for minors, then they same should occur with pets. And, I think that if you fail to keep your dog properly locked away (like that sad story in the news recently where the family dogs killed their 2-year old), I think that the dog owners should face criminal charges, manslaughter, neglect, something!
I agree with Dolly, good point.
I think we should have legislation about over breeding. I work in an Animal Hospital and we still hear about how someone wants their kids to experience the birth of puppies or kittens.
Then we look at the number of animals in shelters, being euthanized to make room for more strays, animals that are abused, abandoned etc.
I think we should make legislation that insists that pets be spayed or neutered. If we decrease population, we also decrease the agreesive characteristics which have been overbred.
I dont think that they should ban pit bulls. Its the people that make them mean. If they go and kill all the pit bulls those same people will fight other breeds. Its not the breed its how they are raised. We cant go killing all the breeds they decide to fight. If we do that then preaty soon they will be fighting labs, or goldens, or poms. We need to enforce the law about not fighting dogs.
a good video about the topic. http://www.pitbullproblem.tk/ it is graphic so yah..
BLS (breed specific legislation) is BS! Ban the foolish owners, the bad breeders, and have the media show the positive as well as the negative. (the media is so one sided, and some people believe everything they hear!)
I wish there was a way to ban certain people from owning them. That will not happen, so the breeds will get banned. There are too many idiots that own these type dogs and they will ruin it for everyone else.
In my opinion, I think the BSL's are a good idea. I mean, with Pits, Presa Canarios, and such, they don't have the tolerance that most breeds to. It has been proven that these dog's tempers will flare without warning. I am for the BSLs.

what do would u want to have out of these?
A Chow Chow, Rottwieler, Pit Bull, or Doberman
Answers:
either the rottie or the amstaff
Rottwielder, they're awsome
None of the above.
I love Basset Hounds and poodles, not necessarily in that order.
pitt. all the way
Chow Chow Pit Bulls are nasty!!
Doberman all the way, always. Love this breed for it's intelligence, kindness and grace.
None of the above. I'm a dachshund girl myself.
Already own a dobie and wouldn't mind having another one or two. I also would own a female pit or rottie, not a chow chow fan.
i think a pit bull, but it depends on the kind and if you have it from when its a puppy. pit bulls .well, american staffs at least, are VERY eager to please. they have a bad rep, but thats because they used to be bred for fighting..dobermans are obviously good guard dogs, and rottwielers can be equally violent. i dont know anything about chow chows
Out of those I would have to say doberman cuz they are really good dogs. they make good companions and are good watch dogs.
Well I have a half pit bull but I would say doberman.
A PIT BULL, but with his ears and tail still attached
I would have to forced at gun point to own a Chow. All the rest I would own, providing they came as puppies.
I would take any but the Chow.
Pit bull definitely.so adorable and affectionate

What do we do with this hyperactive dog?
Our dog destroys property at random, has chewed up (over time) a folding table leg. She destroyed a library book and has messed up 2 purses and other items of value. We cannot leave her home alone for 15 minutes without her finding something to break (sometimes). She constantly poos on the floor and is a royal pain in the butt to walk as he drags any and everyone across the yard. but the much older Beagle we have has gotten used to her. She's also really sweet besides all the things above. The family I live with is strongly against making her an "outside dog".
Answers:
She needs lots of attention and excercise. If she drags you on the leash, you need to establish that you are the dominant person in the relationship. This should be done in a nonviolent manner such as gently using your legs to block the food bowl or knuding her over on to her side. When she finally cowers to you or rolls onto her back you have earned her respect. To keep her from tearing things up buy her toys that she can chew and then work to establish the difference between toys and no-no things. Try using a no chew spray until she gets the point. She may need to be walked twice aday and try to set aside a 15-30 minute time of day when its just you and her. Good luck!
I say you should contact Cesar Milan, The Dog Whisperer. He is AWESOME w/dogs.
give it sedative.
obedience training for sure. get cesar milan's book.he's the dog whisperer. you didn't give any info as to the breed or age of your dog.sounds like a puppy to me. some dogs don't get over being hyperactive. if, after obedience training, your dog is still overly hyper, the vet can prescribe a medication to calm your dog down. best of luck with this.
Wow! We have a dog at our shelter who actually ate the owner's car (not all of it, but enough to count. That's why we have the dog).
I'd like some more info about what kind of dog, what size, and the age. Some chewers never stop chewing. Doesn't sound dental (pain or teething) to me. With most of them it's behavioural, but it takes a psychic to figure it out sometimes. Is it one person's property, like your spouse? Is the dog jealous?
With it also pooing in the house and dragging people, tho, it sounds like a big idiot. Which is not lethal, but can be annoying. The dog we have that chews on cars is actually mentally challenged, and has the IQ of a two-month old puppy. He hangs out with the puppies, plays with them, eats with them (if we let him), and still gnaws on inedible objects. He, obviously, is one of our outside guys. He is also a sweetheart. We just have to remind ourselves that he is not at full capacity, and is not doing things on purpose to make us crazy. His owner didn't understand that and abused the dog, and it still made no difference. Duke is just not a rocket scientist.
Does your dog seem to have problems (other than those mentioned) where your scolding just doesn't seem to sink in? She does the same "wrong" things over and over? Then it might be an IQ problem, or shall we say, adjustment?
I'm sure people are going to recommend a crate, since the family wants the dog inside, but the dog will still be bananas when it's not in the crate. Might even be worse after being confined.
Our Duke calmed down a lot, once away from the irate former owner, and is now also about a year old.
Please give us a little more info, or at least consider that yours might be always be a puppy :-) Good luck to you.
she needs discipline and structure in her life, do you watch The Dog Whisperer? you can get some good ideas from his show
why don't you check into obedience classes? it would really help this dog and they are fun to do
Get her a crate.I know, I know.some ppl are against it, but dogs are "den dwellers" and they naturally will take to a crate or cage. One that's only big enough for her to stand up and turn around..to big and she'll poop in the corners. But this will let her know that she has HER space.and you have yours. I have crated every one of my dogs, and they actually sleep in them when they are out.it's their bed, their space, and they feel comfortable in them.
She might cry the first few days until she gets used to it, but every time you put her in it, give her a cookie and tell her "go to bed" and after about a week, she'll get used to it. Then she'll enjoy her "space" and you'll enjoy a clean house!
Hope this helps,
Melissa
Try some doggy ritalin.
Nah, just kidding. If they made doggy ritalin, I'd invest stock in it. You've gotten some pretty good answers, and there's nothing I could say that they haven't already.
And there most certainly is a such thing as a hyper dog.
hmmmm.could be you need to train it! and take it to obedience classes which will train you to train your dog
All dogs need love, attention, patience, exercise, training and toys. It can be done and there will be relapses but don't give up. Dogs get bored and a bored dog is destructive, that's where toys come in. Regular walks will give the dog exercise and potty time. There is a type of harness that can be used to prevent dogs from pulling and jumping. Try Petco or Petsmart. They also provide obedience training.
Duke is just not a rocket scientist.

what do u think?
my staff is 5 weeks into her pregnancy and seems quite uncomfortable. she has been to vet and had all testing etc done and will be going back in 3 weeks for an xray to count babies. i am feeding her puppy food as adviced by vet but was wondering if anyone else knows of things i could be doing to make her more comfortable and if theres anything else i should be feeding her??

If you arent a breeder, I suggest buying a disposable whelping box and having her sleep in it. This will allow her to be more comfy even after she has the pups since they are easy to look after and cant wander too far. A good box will have liners around the walls so the mother cannot smash puppies. Place comfy blankets or towls to keep her warm. Nice round beds or wicker baskets are sometimes a fav. too. I also suggest a raised dish since puppies can drown in the bowl.
Is there any specially mad dog food with protein for expecting mothers?
Try going for a slow walk every day, about a half hour. The exersice will help her labor, and keeping in shape will help the pregnancy go smoothly and give her a fast recovery.
make sure they get alot of proten
When my doberman was pregnant, my vet recommended PLAIN yogurt and cottage cheese be mixed in with the dry puppy food she was getting.
Both aid in digestion! And they love it, just don't over do it.
Good luck with the pups!

A shelter dog.
One you can look after
They are all great friends, all of them. You'll find one or he'll find you with those puppy dogs eyes.I promise. Just decide if you want a lap dog of just a good buddy. Some are smarter than others.but they are all great friends.
Newfoundlands, gentle giants
A welch corgy . They are small and cute plus fluffy
Golden Labs, Golden Retrievers, German Shepherds, and Beagels are my favorites!
one from a rescue centre who has had a tough time and is waiting for you to come and take him home and give lots of love and cuddles.
He probably thinks nobody loves him, so imagine his little tail wagging when you choose him.
Whatever one fits your lifestyle. Some need more exercise or some are better with kids than others, etc. I would try to get a dog from the shelter though if possible.
Well it totally depends on you as a person, if you love going out socialising alot and at work all day you have to take in consideration for your pet that you have..
You cant have a pet thats energetic and loves running if you dont so write down all the points about yourself and see what pet would be best remember that the dog always comes first at the end of the day..
The very nicest and most economical puppies and dogs are available on this site.. You can read about them, to see which ones fit your lifestyle. Many of them are already potty trained, and all are current on vaccinations and worming> http://search.petfinder.com/search/searc.
Just put in your own zip code to find the dogs nearest you, then click on any name or picture to get more information.
Happy shopping!
Hey! check out this little guy..What a combination..Basenji and Chihuahua.shouldn't be yappy! > http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/disp.
what a nice dog! > http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/disp.
Depends on your situation - labradors make fantastic faithful friends but need lots of exercise or adopt a retired racing greyhound, they are the fastest couch potato!
boxer dog all the way, sooooo cuuteeee!
Yorkshire terriers. They're fabulous!!
i think that you would enjoy a rat terrier. they are very playful and smart and they make very good guard dogs.
a small one for cheaper vet bills
If you have an extreme amount of patience then get a Chihuahua.
Bull Terrier. So many people think they're stupid, but they can be well trained and are excellent pets and can be so funny
a cute little yorkshire terrier!.that what i have..the good points are the hair does not fall out all over.you can pick em up and let them sit on your knee.dont need lots of space.they are happy with a 10 minute walk and believe me are very intelligent!.hope this helps
Hot dog with mustard and a nice salad..? .. or a Boxer / GSD.. :)
It depends on what you want it for!
Like protection-German Shepards
Hunting- Bird dog
curried with boiled rice..
Get a lurcher..i have got one and had them most of my life..they are the most friendliest dogs you can get (in my opinion anyway) plus they are great with kids.
any Lab. However, from a shelter.
German Shepherd, unless course, you've a feeling of antagonism for Germans %26 if that go for Alsatian ;)
I'm thinking to owe the same myself. Just waiting for the miserable state of my bank account to get little better. at least, enough to satisfy my this particular whim.
Bull Breeds are the best Dogs ever.
There is no best dog to buy.the best thing to do is adopt from the shelter and save a life!
WHIPPETS!!
weimaraner, the grey ghost. Absolutely beautiful dogs.
what do u do with a dog that has worms??
my dog has worms and there all over my carpet i do not know what to do i need some help!! big time!!
Answers:
Take him to the vet immediately! They are not usually all over the carpet.
Take it to the vet and have the dog dewormed and put on meds if needed. This sounds like a pretty bad case, I would get to the vet as soon as you can.

Take your dog to the vet and they will probably prescribe it special medication to treat it.
VET, right away. They have very good and very fast (Relatively Cheap) medications w/almost no side effects.
take him fishing the worms make good bait
If its at that point, take it to the vet!
take de dog to de Vet! Get wormers from him/her after they've identified the TYPE of worms, not all worms are visible to the naked eye.
BUY THE DOG SOME DE- WORM PILLS FROM THE STORE CHEAP AND IT WORKS AND DO IT SOON
get the carpet cleaned and deordorized to clean it then get some dewormer to get rid of the worms and flea collor for the dog plus give him a good flea bath before putting the collar on him
go to walmarts and some worm medecine. it really works.
Take your dog to your vet asap. He/she will put the dog on a special medicine. I recommend that you go ahead and let your vet give your dog a general physical, even if hes had one this year. I'm not trying to frighten you, but SOMETIMES the worms can be around his heart as well. Your vet can check this area also; if they are there too, your vet can treat them. Worms around a dog's heart are one of the #1 things that "get 'em". Good luck to ya!
take him to the vet and get him dewormed. try and take a sample of the puppy's stole with you.
My puppy had worms when I 1st got him to,the Vet say most puppy do have worms. that's why its important to take them for a vet visit.
Oh and get your carpet cleaned. you may want to get a colon cleanser for yourself.. because you can catch have the worms yourself by stepping on the puppy stole.
please take the dog to the vet
you have to take him to the vet to get a dewormer
go to the vet and get medication for the worms it will kill the worms. But remember it is fairly expensive to get pet medications
either take your dog to the vet and have the dog dewormed or go to Walmart and buy some liquid medicine! good luck!
Definately take him to the vet! I would put him outside until you can take him.
Round worms usually come out with the stool, not all over the carpet. Round worms are white and about 4 inches long. Any good wormer from the pet store with Pyrantel Pamoate will kill both hook (which you can't see) and round worm.
Tape worms come out without a stool when they've had them for a while. The egg segments are what is coming out. They are about 1 1/2 - 2 inches long and white. As soon as they hit the air, they start to shrink up to the size of a grain of rice. A different wormer is needed for this. Pranziquantel is sold at most pet stores now.
Take it and the stuff on your carpet (fresh if possible) to the vet. They can deworm it. My guess, if you can see them, is roundworms. Hookworm can't be seen with the naked eye and tapeworm look like pieces of rice stuck together. Roundworm look like thin spaghetti with points on both ends. Clean up the messes and worms (wear rubber gloves).

what do they do for her?
my dog is slightly over weight and peanuts seem to be a good alternative to table scrap. she loves peanuts as much as any other treat, what are some up's and down's about giving her peanuts?
Answers:
Peanuts are hard for a dogs stomach to digest and the oil isn't good for your dog either. However, it won't hurt the dog too much. Try to only give your dog 4-6 peanuts once every other day so your dog won't get sick.
Peanuts will give her the hershey squirts
It's a good cheap snack, but fattening. Try cooking some chicken or other meat and dicing it for treats. You can cook it until it's dry like jerky to make it last longer. Since dogs are carnivores, this would be better for her.
the peanuts that we would eat or the dog treat peanuts ? the ones that we eat are high in salt and can give her high chloesterol just all the lows that we have when eating them in more than just moderation . the dog treat peanuts are fine , but also in moderation , even though they are made for dogs doesnt mean that they good all the time
actually a better alternative to peanuts which could upset your dogs stomache, is peas many people have used that as an alternative to help thier dogs lose weight.
Peanuts can be fattening if they are doused with oil. Check the nutrition facts. It may have a lot of sodium. Just ask your vet about it. Bring a sample of the nutrition facts to your vet. When it doubt, ask the vet, I always say. I love dogs. :]]

What do these mean? Dog's drives: defense-fight = 65 / defense-flight = 10?
A test told me that my "dog's drives" were as follows:
prey = 35
pack = 45
defense-fight = 65
defense-flight = 10
What does it mean?
If you know and can provide any advice for us, it would be great, thanks.
Answers:
Those are Volhard scores - or a test very similar.
Go here to see it:
http://www.volhard.com/training/cpp.htm.
In looking at them, think of 50 as being the average.
What this means are:
(1) Prey: how much your dog wants to chase and catch things. German Shepherds are typically nearly double your dog's score at minimum..The hunting breeds - particularly the retrievers are going to more - say 60ish or better - if they come from line of dogs bred for field work.
Now a dog with 35 will play chasing a toy - but it is not a big deal and they enjoy it for a bit but are not going to be retrieving fools or prone to chasing the rabbit for the fun of it.
Also "prey" means food to a dog (the chase and catch instinct). The lower this score, the less motivated this dog will be to obey for treats - it just isn't that big of a deal to them. The higher the score, the more motivated they are with food as the reward.
(2) Pack: How closely the dog bonds to the group and seeks their approval and seeks to have a strong role in the pack. Does the dog crave companionship or is if it has company fine but if not fine or is it "leave me alone, I don't care what the others do and don't want to join in.
This score is very important in terms of how much the dog will try to fit into the pack hierarchy (and remember, in a household setting, you are part of the pack.) The higher the score the more the dog wants to be part of the group - and if you are the Alpha (leader) - to do what it takes to please you in reutrn for phsyical and verbal approval. (To a dog, food is NOT the same as receiving approval from the pack/leader.) The lower the score, the less the dog will care about complying with the group and the less it will be motivated by approval in the form of praise and pets and attention. A low score is difficult to train - they really don't care even to trouble themselves just to get approval.
A 45 is a mid range score. The dog is happy being part of the group but doesn't bond so closely to the group that it is stressed if it isn't part of the group. It will try to please you for your approval (voice, pets ect) provided the requested behavior is not a whole lot of trouble. This is the dog that will do the retrieve because you ask and give it verbal praise and pets but might draw the line at doing the retrieve in a half-frozen lake.
Defense-fight: How much will the dog stand its ground and not give in in order to be dominant. This is a score that has to be considered in relation to the pack score.
A mid-range or high pack score with a high-fight score (and this 65 is high) is going to want to be part of the pack BUT it wants to be the leader. We are talking a dominant dog here.
Now a high flight/low pack would be the dog who doesn't really care about leading the pack or even belonging and will be aggressive simply pick a fight. Put a high fight with a high prey score and you have an aggressive dog that wants to chase and catch. (The Shutzhound dogs and patrol dogs.)
(4) Flight: How timid is the dog, how fearful. Some flight is good because the dog will give in to a stronger personality but you don't want too much. A high flight score is a dog that frightens easily and can be a fear biter.
Now with a 35 prey, 45 pack 65 fight and 10 flight, without knowing anything about the breed, here is what I see.
The dog is not going to chase after anything that moves - like running after the rabbit for the sheer fun of i for more than a short distance if at all. This dog is NOT a candidate for Shutzhound, police work, field trial or hunting and getting it to even do the retrieve of the dumbell in AKC obedience competition is going to be a fight - it simply isn't that interested.
You are not going to reliably train or motivate this dog to perform by giving treats. It'll take them but if it decides it doesn't want to do something, you are not going to get co-operation by saying "please, if you do it, you get a cookie."
Pack and flight scores need to be taken in reltionship to each other. This dog is quite happy being part of the group and wants the approval of the group (its pack). The important thing is that it wants to be the Alpha and top dog in the group. You can motivate this dog through physical and verbal praise BUT you are going to have a serious fight on your hands over who is boss.
Add into the mix, the low flight score and this guy is NOT going to give in or retreat - ever.
Difficult temperment for the amateur inexperienced owner. The dog is going to constantly be trying to be in charge. The owner is going to have to be right there saying "Don't you dare", be prepared to back it up with insisting the dog obey even if they are there for hours trying to get a 'sit', and never give in to the dog. This is the dog where the handler spends a lot of effort roaring "NOT OPTIONAL MISTER - NOW DO IT" if they have control over the dog and are in charge. The best motivator for this dog is for the owner to establish that they are in charge, not the dog, and reward it lavishly with physical pets, hugs and verbal praise. If the owner isn't in charge, this dog is going to run the household and their lives and simply ignore them ad d as it pleases.
This is what professional handlers call a "tough" temperment.
If hazarding a guess at the breed, I would say a guarding, herd guarding, some working breeds or a dominant herding dog.
Probably not a Dobe or GSD - they would normally have a much higher Prey score. Maybe boxer (guarding breed.) Akitas come to mind - also Huskies and Malmutes
Herd guarding would be Great Pyreenes, Kuvasz, Anatolian Shepherd etc (called Livestock Guarding Dogs)
Herding: Maybe a Bouvier des Flanders (hard to call - some of those have a high prey score, some middle and some low.) That high fight score would be very unusual for the other herding breeds.
That low prey score rules out the Sporting Breeds - unless we are talking a bossy, headstrong Lab, Golden etc who dislikes the job for which they were bred.
Not a hound or terrier like an Airedale - not with that prey score.
Also, could one of several of the Non-sporting and one the comes immediately to mind is a Chow-chow (bred to guard without giving chase, tough to train and handle.) Dalmation - not likely since the idea of running after something makes this dog say "right - you do it, not me.)
Toys - Not likely a Min Pin. Maybe one of the toys bred to alert and challenge intruders - lhasa is a possiblity.
Love to know how close I came on the breed.
----
Now, change and answer on the test and it changes the outcome. A misunderstandng of the question will give an incorrect answer - and thus and incorrect score.
(Sorry about any typos - its late and I'm tired.)
Hmm.. very tired - just saw the breed. Odd on the prey score. A Staffie should have a MUCH higher prey score since they were originally bred to hunt vermin. May want to redo the test. Now some dogs don't fit the breed standard - had a beautiful top-flight conformation Golden who if you threw something, she looked at you, shrugged and said "Not in my job description - breed standard has a typo and it should be "never retrieves. You threw it - you go get it."
What type of test was this? What kind of dog are we talking about?
This looks like
35% of the time he is more likely to prey on something. (rabbit, small dog etc)
45% of the time pack behavior
65% of the time defend himself in a fight
10% of the time run instead of fighting
Hope you didn't pay for this?
Is it a math equation that should be left in the math category or maybe even home work? I really wish I could answer your question but this has me stumped.
35+45+65+10=155
Every breed of dog has a different "drive". I have a American Pit Bull Terrier .. and his "drive" would be somewhat different than your dog. My Pit Bull's drive is as follows:
Prey = 70
Pack = 70
Defense - Fight = 20
Defense - Flight = 15
Drives defined:
The four drives outlined by Volhard include prey, pack, fight, and flight reactions.
The prey drive includes those behaviors that highlight hunting and foraging behaviors. Dogs that hunt and kill their toys (or objects of clothing, pillows, etc.), chase anything that moves, steal food, stalk the cat, and pounce on toys or other animals are probably high in prey drive.
The Pack drive involves a dog's affinity for humans or other dogs. A dog with a high pack drive cannot get enough of people; he barks or cries when left alone, solicits play and petting, likes to touch, enjoys grooming, and loves the sound of his master's voice.
The Fight drive is defensive and indicates a dog's self-confidence in stressful situations. A dog with a strong fight-defense drive stands his ground, walks high on his toes, guards his territory and his family, may guard his toys and food, tolerates petting and grooming but does not really enjoy these activities, enjoys tug-of-war, and seems ready to fight.
The Flight drive is also a defense drive and indicates a dog's lack of self-confidence. A dog with high flight drive is unsure in new situations and may hide behind his person, is stressed when separated from his person, crawls on his belly or urinates when reprimanded, and may bite when cornered.
So, in comparing our dogs .
My dog has a higher prey and pack drive than yours, which means that my dog likes to hunt, forage, chase, steal food, stalk, be near humans, be groomed and be touched . more than your dog does.
My dog has a lower defense - fight drive, which indicates that he is not the type of dog to be aggressive . unless trained to do so. He is not possesive of his food or toys and he will not guard his territory or family ~ this holds true . as Pit Bulls are the most stolen dogs . world-wide. Your dog would make a much better guard - dog than mine.
Our dogs flight drive is almost the same. They become unsure in certain situations and would more than likey run or cower when they are scared.
Whew . lol . hope all this helped ya!!
Okay, it's kind of like those card games that give stats on the elf, dwarf, or wizard.only it's for dogs.
A bunch of geeks came up with it, most likely.
And if you take your dog for a walk.he can have +2 immunity! Sweet!
Here is the chart to explain the Volhard puppy temperament testing> http://www.volhard.com/puppy/pat.htm.
You can improve those scores with a LOT of socialization with other dogs, such as puppy training classes..And her pack drive by DOING with her..Agility, obedience, frisbee, etc.
prey = 35
pack = 45
defense-fight = 65
defense-flight = 10
Prey = 70
Pack = 70

What do people think of the dog whisperer and other dog TV shows?
I wanted to know how people felt about the dog whisperer and his methods. I often see answers to dog posts that say, "Watch Cesar Milan." As a trainer, shower and groomer, I have had a fair amount of experience with dogs and behavior, and I like the principals that Cesar lays down about communicating with dogs. That said, he uses some methods that I don't agree with (though I suppose no two trainers agree). The one problem that I have with him is that he doesn't emphasize the importance of seeing a trainer on his show. Oftentimes I feel that people are too willing to "self diagnose" dogs after watching him and accidentally interpret fear or play as aggression. If a dog has a problem that could be dangerous, in my opinion, the safest option is to seek a pro. What are other people鈥檚 opinion on the dog whisperer and other shows like it as dog advice?
Answers:
He has helped a lot of dogs who would otherwise have been put down. However, his methods are definitely not for the average dog or the average dog owner - in fact, they could be dangerous. Some of the things he says are patently ridiculous.
Have you ever seen what happens to these dogs he's "cured" after they've been back with their owners for a couple of weeks? Do you really believe that they don't revert back to their former behaviour?
He's great at what he does with dogs with major aggression problems, but the owners can't control their own dogs with his methods.
There's a german shepherd breeder named Suzanne Clothier, who is a trainer, author and lecturer who's methods are far more humane, she has a thorough understanding of dogs, uses a common sense approach to training and gets amazing results. Read her book called "Bones Would Rain From the Sky" and you might get a totally different view point of a person's relationship with dogs.
I've only seen it once and it was just the other day! I liked it I thought he was good but I would definately take my dog to a trainer or veterinarian if we were having any behavioral issues or health issues because watching tv and applying it to your own life usually isnt a good idea. And like people, all dogs or even dogs of the same breed are not all the same.
I watch it and i actually really like the show, i would definently consult a trainer for help with my dog. He's just showing that its possible with the right teachings to have a well behaved dog. all during the program it says comes up with a messege that you should consult a trainer and not try anything shown
I quite agree with you. Remember, these are made for TV shows. Have you noticed how the camera keeps certain things out of view when he is working with a "problem dog"? They don't show that at times it is obvious he is luring the dogs with food.
My dog's sibling, Renegade the Border Collie, was seen on an episode in which a supposed dog psychologist would council owners with pet problems and help them solve them. Renegade is an dog actor and this cameo was to further his resume and hopefully help him to get more work. So his owner trained tricks so that he would lay at her side and hold a pose that made him look depressed - yes, it was a taught trick like going to a spot on the floor. He acted awesomely. This psychologist "helped" Renegade out of his depression by introducing him to flyball. They did not disclose to the viewing audience, Renegade was already competing on a flyball team and doing quite well. Of course Renegade took to flyball like a fish to water and looked so happy to the viewers (duh he loves flyball) and the psychologist took full credit for "helping him and his owner".
I am not writing this to completely discretit these individuals, but also realize that this is TV. TV is entertainment. Don't think that there are no dog actors out there or that you are seeing the whole picture as it protrayed by the cameras. The art is in making the illusion appear real. Sit back and be entertained.
I think the man is a genius! That said lol I would not take my dog to a trainer or vet for the things that Cesar handles on his shows because they are not in the habit of retraining the owner like he is. Trainers are good for obedience and vets are good for medical problems. Cesar treats the psychological problems the dogs have and he will get my vote every time.
I like to watch Ceasar Milan's show. The show helped me understand how dog's think. I used to give my dog's human attributes. For example, dogs jump-up and lick their owners to show them love and affection. Now I know this behavior is disrespectful for animals to do to the leader of the pack. Before the show starts, there was usually a warning about not trying Caesar鈥檚 techniques at home without seeing a trainer. I have to admit though that I tried some of his techniques without seeing a trainer. It was too tempting not to try them when you see the owner on the show have so much success with training their dogs.
i really love it that Cesar has taken the time to actually understand how and why dogs do what dogs do, this is
the way we've always trained and treated our dogs
i wish everyone could watch his shows
there is a disclaimer at the beginning and the end of his show

What do I use to make my dogs face white?
I'm thinking of going as Sally and Jack (as this IS his name). He being a blk/wht springer..figure if I can get his face all white I'll just need the tie. Clown make-up? Thanks!
Answers:
well i think white cream halloween make-up should be fine as long as it's non-toxic. Hey, if it's safe enough for a child, why not a dog? just be sure to clean it thoroughly when you get home.
the same as your eyes never use anything harsh that will cause eye irritation or blindness. read what you want to use before using it .
PLZ. donot put makeup on your dogs face it will irratae his skin cause it is more sensitive that humans you donot have to put make up on him maby if you want is fur white than take a makeup brush and put some baby powder on the brush and brush it his fur and it will turn his fur white and it will not irritate his skin.
You can use the same type of hair color spray you would get from a party store. Just make sure you cover his eyes when spraying it.im sure they have white for halloween.
You can use baby powder to lighten his coloring . . . I wouldn't use makeup on a dog, unless it's specifically made for a dog. You never know when your dog may get some in his mouth, making him sick. And dog's eyes and senses of smell are much more acute than humans . . . the smell could irritate his nose.
Baby powder, gentle and white. Butgive him a bath ASAP when u get home.
