You shouldn't bath your dog everyday, it is extremely drying to the skin, unless he has gone out and gotten extremely muddy and dirty, then you should only bath him every couple of weeks. There is a powder that is made that you can put on your dog and that will help keep his coat clean and smelling good.

I've done a lot of dog showing, and when a dog is being campaigned, we bathe up to three times per week. It does over dry the coat, so we try not to to that much washing except for the very biggest shows. Frankly, for a dog not being campaigned, daily bathing will do more harm than good. It won't change the doggy smell, which mostly comes from the teeth, and it will dull the coat, making the dog worse looking, not better.
